gFTP er en flott ftp-klient for Ubuntu Linux som gir både en GUI-basert opplevelse og en kommandolinjeklient. Det er en enkel måte å bytte mellom ved hjelp av standard ftp-klienten og ved hjelp av gftp-tekst. Først vil du være sikker på at du har installert gFTP.
Vi bruker kommandoen oppdateringsalternativer for å endre innstillingen. Åpne et terminalvindu og skriv inn følgende kommando:
sudo update-alternatives –config ftp
Du bør se noe som ligner på dette:
~$ sudo update-alternatives –config ftp
There are 2 alternatives which provide `ftp’. Selection Alternative ---------------– *+ 1 /usr/bin/netkit-ftp 2 /usr/bin/gftp-text Press enter to keep the default[*], or type selection number: 2
For mitt system er gftp alternativ 2, så jeg skriver inn og trykker enter-tasten.
For å teste dette ut, skriv bare inn "ftp localhost" … du bør se at systemet ditt nå bruker gftp i stedet.
